けいがい【形骸】

a bare skeleton; an empty shell. [⇒けいがいか]

●解体されてわずかに形骸をとどめる船 a ship dismantled and reduced to a bare skeleton

・かつての壮麗な大伽藍(_がらん)も今ではわずかに昔の形骸をとどめているにすぎない. Even the once magnificent grand temple is now only reduced to a shell of its former self.

●わが国の仏教は今や形骸ばかりになったと彼は嘆いている. He laments that Buddhism in this country has become only a shell.

・バーミヤンの石仏は完全に破壊されその形骸すらとどめていない. The Colossal Buddhas of Bamian have been completely destroyed, not even shapeless shells remaining.

けいがい【荊芥】

【植】 〔シソ科の 1 年草; 中国北部原産の薬草〕 Schizonepeta tenuifolia; 【生薬】 〔花穂〕 schizonepeta spike.

けいがい【傾蓋】

a chance encounter; a casual meeting.

●傾蓋故(_こ)のごとし. They met by chance yet are like old friends.

＝せきばらい.

●謦咳に接する have the opportunity of personally meeting sb one hold in esteem.
